My Coyote Hunting Gear Setup

The following is my basic list of the gear that I personally use.  Gear options and opinions are endless, and this is simply what I prefer and have found to be a good setup for the way that I hunt.

I mainly night hunt so a good light is a must.  I prefer Rechargeable LED 8 Mode Waterproof Headlamp 18000 High Lumen BRIGHT – Life is Now Outdoors LLC.  I have personally used this style for the last two seasons and have had zero issues with it.  Rechargeable, great battery life, super bright, lots of different light mode options, (red is my preference).  Very affordable option and covers the bases from low red light to super bight beam for tracking or locating downed game. 

I use a Thermal Scanner to look for coyotes while on stand along with an E Caller.  Therefore, I have two items to deal with.  I prefer to keep them close at hand with a Caller Remote/ Thermal Scanner Lanyard Braided Paracord Extra Lead Cli – Life is Now Outdoors LLC.  This setup allows them to hang securely around my neck and I can switch between remote, and scanner as needed.  

I also like to use a Crossbody Chest Shoulder Sling Bag Backpack – Life is Now Outdoors LLC.  This bag is awesome for holding my remote, scanner, extra batteries, rounds, wind checker, etc, etc.  Hunting anytime is about being efficient and organized, especially at night.  This bag really helps me keep things close and most everything I need on stand can be held in it.  

I used a Rifle and Thermal Scope that for my style of hunting requires a Tripod.  My current setup is FATBOY Tripods Traverse Three Section Tripod – Life is Now Outdoors LLC.  I also use a Ball Head with a Clamp.  Another option we offer is FATBOY Invert60 Ball Head – Life is Now Outdoors LLC.  This is an excellent setup for a super solid shooting platform.  

Last but not least, success in the field equals a drag back to the truck with your coyote.  As I already have a caller, rifle and Tripod to carry I like to keep my hands free when possible, so I use Dog Gone Coyote/Deer Hands Free Shoulder Sling Game Drag – Life is Now Outdoors LLC.  Works great for getting them out of the field.
